Calling All Models

At these year's SHEI Magazine Model Call not only were the models making a statement, but their accessories were too. With guests looking glamorous and the SHEI Magazine board members dressed to impress, it was a nice of fashion perfection.

Smarty Pants

Who says you can't have a brain and be beautiful?

These University of Michigan students have great style in and outside of the classrooms.

A lesson to all: study hard and always look fabulous.

On tour and on the run. These friends make fashion fun.

Early morning classes call for a look that will last all day.

Walkin' the streets with a hop in her step.

Girls like guys who not only look amazing but don't carry extra baggage (unless it's a book bag)

Study buddies in patterns and prints

Even at the cafe, late night cram sessions are comfortable and cute.

In Need of A Boost

Being 5'3" has it's limitations...

I won't be walking the runways any time soon,
I can't wear maxi dresses without being swallowed
"regular" length jeans are always ruled out,
and my boots are only a few inches short of over the knee.

I do my best to stand out and stand tall. After a summer of wearing wedges and flatforms, I intend on walking into fall in the same manner - with a few extra inches to give me a boost.

No need to hide my height, I'd proudly stroll the streets in any of these casual flatforms shoes that are great for fall.

The Alchemist

The stories behind vintage pieces are what make them so amazing. By re-work vintage jewelry Dawn Noir of Lux Alchemy creates combinations of pure bliss that is nothing short of magical.

I had the pleasure discovering her jewelry while out Saturday. Though amazing in person, her products  are also available online.

A Day From Hell

The Hell's Kitchen Flea Market is one of my favorites in NYC. They have year-round vendors that range from 1930's toy collectors to aspiring artisans of jewelry, photography and creativity galor.

I never leave empty handing and after a morning of solid thrifting, I walked away satisfied with a few new vintage pieces.

The Prada Fall RTW collection has made an impact on me.
Though every look may be full of color clashing and contrasting patterns,
it's was the lengthy vests that really caught my eye.

I've done a little in(vest)igating of my own and found a wide array of seasonal pieces. With differences in fit, style, structure and length, a vest is no longer just a sleeveless jacket, it's an inVESTment.

My Fashion Week

With New York Fashion Week literally days away, I pout in disbelief knowing that I am missing the fashionable festivities by a mere day! Starting on Sep. 6th and continuing until the 13th, I realize this after booking my flight to depart on Friday the 14th.

With optimism, I'll be tuning in, and catching all of the week's buzz from Michigan and anxiously awaiting my weekend trip back to NYC.

In the meantime, I've established a Fashion Week of my own, right here in Ann Arbor. After welcoming students back to school, I'll be hitting the streets, scouting for daily fashionistas to showcase   on H&N all week long.

That being said, whether you're attending Fashion Week or viewing it from afar (like me) plan on dressing in your most trendy attire - you never know when H&N will be out snapping photos.

Grade A

I've never been one to carry a backpack.
Hauling books around, strapped to you in a bag with more pockets than possibly fill-able never appealed to me.

I'd much rather be roaming the halls in something

a little more fashion functional.
